On Sunday the 29th of March shecanTRACE teamed up with long time parkour practitioner, visual artist and director Karen Palmer and DOP Anthony Gurner to capture what it looks, sounds and feels like to do Parkour for the first time.
It began with some mobility, jumping and foot placement basics, before moving on to explore the urban features along the canal at Canada Water in new and exciting ways.
The weather did its part and introduced the beginners to training in the dry, wet, wind, driving rain and, for a few brief instants, glorious sunshine. All in the space of three hours. God bless England.
The women who took part all worked together with true commitment, determination, spirit and most importantly, fun. We can’t wait to see the finished product after Karen has worked her magic with the footage. Watch this space, but before then, get yourself down to a women’s class or beginner’s class with Parkour Generations and see how it feels for yourself!
